Creative Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum at LDS is designed to stimulate life-long curiosity and exploration by making learning an engaging process that enables the youngest generation of scholars to build a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and enduring understandings.
While our evolving curriculum comprises the foundation of traditional coursework class activities, lessons, and assessments emphasize experiential learning. Every minute of the school day, whether spent inside or outside of the classroom, is looked upon as an opportunity for new understanding and growth. Art, and dance/drama classes provide outlets for student creativity and self-expression. In addition, enrichment classes are designed to project oriented emergent units. Outdoor play, indoor gym and sports lessons afford opportunities for play, social interaction, and lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
Our curriculum is extended to facilitate a social, emotional, physical and intellectual aspect of each child's growth.
